 Garlic Scape Scampi



The garlic leaves or green shoots of the garlic plant are often stop once they are still not ripe to encourage the tubers to grow bigger. Garlic is edible and usually features a milder taste than the garlic cloves themselves. I first heard about garlic last year, but it's almost non-existent and are waiting patiently to undertake it ever since.


INGREDIENTS

1 tablespoon of vegetable oil

1 tablespoon butter

1 pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)

1/2 pound shrimp (peeled and shelled)

1/2 cup wine

1/2 lemon (juice and peel)

1/4 cup garlic (finely chopped)

1 tablespoon butter


INSTRUCTIONS

1.Heat the oil and melt the butter during a skillet.

2.Add the red pepper flakes and saute until fragrant, about 1 minute.

3.Add the prawns and saute until cooked, about 2-3 minutes per side.

4.Remove the prawns from the pan.

5.Add wine and juice and convey to a boil.

6.Boil the liquid until it reduces by about half, about 3-5 minutes.

7.Add the garlic and let it simmer until fragrant, a few minute.

8.Add butter, await it to melt and switch off the warmth .
