Cincinnati Chili
A delicious and easy regional dish, this Cincinnati chili is easy to prepare, tasty and absolutely filling! Topped with spaghetti with cheese and you have a delicious evening meal.
Ingredients
- 15 ounces tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup chili powder
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 2 pounds lean ground beef , 85/15
- 4 cloves garlic , minced
- 5 whole cloves
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
- 1/2 ounce unsweetened chocolate
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 pound spaghetti cooked
- 5 whole allspice berries
- 1 yellow onion diced
- 2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 yellow onions , finely chopped
Instructions
First, add the ground beef to a skillet over medium-high heat, cook and break until golden brown.
Then, add the onions, tomato sauce, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, chocolate, chili powder, salt, cumin, cinnamon, cayenne pepper, cloves, chili berries from Jamaica and bay leaf and mix well.
Lower the heat to simmer and cook for 2 hours, stirring occasionally, adding water if it becomes too dry.
Serve over spaghetti cooked with onions and cheddar.
