Chilli Garlic Chicken
A popular
and delicious takeaway, Hakka, Chinese Indian, Chilli Chicken is prepared with
crispy chicken pieces lightly coated with a spicy sauce dough.
Ingredients
- 1 tsp Rice Vinegar
- 2 tbsp Garlic Chopped
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 4 tbsp Cornflour Divided
- 2 tbsp All Purpose Flour
- 1 tsp Ginger Chopped
- 1 tsp Ginger Garlic Paste
- 3-4 Red Chillies Slit into half
- 1 tbsp Red Chilli Paste
- 1 tsp Soy sauce
- 2 tsp Tomato Ketchup
- 2 capsicum Cut into square pieces
- 2 tbsp Oil Plus for frying
- 300 g Chicken Breast Cut into small pieces
- 2 tbsp Spring Onion Greens Chopped
Instructions
First, Mix
the salt, ginger paste, garlic and vinegar in a bowl.
Then, Add
chicken pieces, mix well and leave aside for 30 minutes.
Heat the oil
to fry the chicken pieces in a saucepan.
Add 2 tbsp.
Spoon corn flour and all-purpose flour into chicken and coat chicken with dry
mixture.
Fry chicken
pieces until golden brown and set aside.
Heat 2 tbsp.
Oil soup in a saucepan.
When the oil
is hot, add the garlic, ginger and red peppers.
Fry until
garlic is lightly browned.
Add red
pepper paste, soy sauce and tomato ketchup and fry for a few seconds.
Mix 2 tbsp.
Toss cornmeal in a cup of water and add it to the pan.
Cook until
the sauce thickens.
Adjust the
water according to your preferences.
Add the
pepper and the fried chicken pieces.
Cook for 2-3
minutes.
Serve hot
with fried rice or steamed rice.
