Bread Pudding
Bread
pudding is a simple and easy dessert consisting of fluffy white bread and
simple, everyday ingredients. It's an old-fashioned recipe that your whole
family will love.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 2 cups half and half
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup raisins optional
- 6 cups day old bread cut into 2 inch cubes
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter more for greasing pan
- 4 large eggs beaten
Instructions
First, Preheat
the oven to 350 degrees. Butter an 8x8 gratin dish with butter and in a large
bowl, mix half and half, vanilla, sugar, salt, raisins (optional) and eggs.
Then, Add
the bread until everything is well mixed, then place it in the 8x8 pan and let
stand at least 60 minutes before baking for 40 to 45 minutes before serving hot
or at room temperature.
