Chinese Braised Chicken
Traditionally, chicken pieces are dig small pieces; however, if you favor to go away them whole, extend the cooking time.
INGREDIENTS
2 1/2 pounds of chicken strips i exploit chicken thighs on the bone
4 tablespoons of gluten-free soy divided
1 1/2 tablespoons vegetable oil
2-3 green onions dig 2 inches
5 segment ginger slices, peeled
1 cup thawed fresh or frozen chestnuts
8 shitake mushrooms rehydrated in water (reserve of immersion liquid), stalks removed, cut in half
1/4 cup dry sherry
2 tablespoons of honey
1 star anise
1 cup shitake mushroom soaking liquid
INSTRUCTIONS
1.Cut the chicken into small pieces if desired . Cover the chicken with 2 tablespoons of soy and let represent 10 to fifteen minutes.
2.Heat the oil during a large skillet and add the green onions and ginger; Saute for a couple of minutes until fragrant. Place the chicken pieces on the pan during a single layer. Brown on one side, then flip everywhere and brown the opposite side. Add the ingredient. Mix the sauce and chicken until blended. bring back a boil, then reduce the warmth to a boil and cook for 20 minutes, covered. Add chestnuts and blend gently. Cover and simmer for an additional 15 to twenty minutes, until the chicken is tender.
