Chocolate Panna Cotta

Chocolate Panna Cotta

This rich dessert is delicious with fresh fruit and a hint of whipped cream.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 tsp. Tbsp (20 g) sugar
  • 1 1/8 cups (250 mL) milk
  • 1/2 vanilla bean
  • 1 1/4 cups (300 mL) heavy cream
  • 3 gelatin sheets * see notes for conversion
  • 3.5 oz (100 g) 70% cocoa dark chocolate, finely chopped (or use dark chocolate chips)

Instructions

First, add the gelatin sheets to a bowl of cold water and let stand 10 minutes until tender.

Then, add the cream, milk and sugar to a saucepan. Scrape the vanilla seeds from the pod / pod and add the vanilla to a saucepan over medium / low heat. Heat the mixture until the sugar has dissolved. Simmer the milk and cream, then turn off the heat.

Add the finely chopped chocolate to the milk and cream and stir slowly until the chocolate is completely melted.

Squeeze the gelatin to remove as much water as possible then add it to the hot cream and chocolate. Whisk constantly until the gelatin is melted, then allow the pan to cool.

Once cooled, strain the mixture into serving glasses and place in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. Happy Cooking Time.
