INSTRUCTIONS
Prepare the masala for the fish curry
First, dry roast the rice, jeera / cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds and chana dal until lightly toasted, about a minute. Let cool.
Then, in a blender, add these cooled spices, onion, coconut and tomato to obtain a smooth paste. Put aside.
Prepare the South Indian Fish Curry
Heat the oil in a pan and add the mustard seeds. When the mustard seeds start to splash, add the curry leaves.
Then add the ground paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, tamarind water and fish. Mix gently.
Add the coriander leaves and green chili. Bring it to a boil over high heat. Reduce the flame and cook, covered, to a simmer.
Turn off the stove when the color of the green chilli has changed and the oil begins to float in the sauce. Garnish with cilantro leaves before serving. Happy Cooking Time.
