Peanut Butter Rice Krispies

Peanut Butter Rice Krispies

Sweet and savory cereal treats bursting with peanut butter flavor. These 6 ingredient cereal treats can be made on the stovetop or in the microwave.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 2 teaspoons of vegetable oil
  • 6 cups Rice Krispie * cereal
  • 8 oz chocolate chips about 1 1/3 cups
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 10 oz bag mini marshmallows about 5 cups

Instructions

First, lightly grease a 9 x 13-inch pan with butter or non-stick cooking spray.

Then, in a large saucepan, melt the butter, mini marshmallows and peanut butter over low heat, stirring gently.

Once melted, remove from heat and stir in the Rice Krispies.

Squeeze the mixture into the pan (spray your hands lightly with non-stick cooking spray to prevent the mixture from sticking to your hands).

Add chocolate chips (or chopped chocolate) to a medium heatproof bowl. Microwave for 45 second intervals on medium power (neither high nor standard), stirring between each burst.

When almost melted, stir until smooth and stir in vegetable oil.

Pour the chocolate on top of the bars and let harden at room temperature (about 2 hours).

Cut into squares and store in an airtight container at room temperature. Happy Cooking Time.

Notes

For softer, stickier bars, use only 5 1/2 cups Rice Krispies.

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
