Heaven on Earth Cake







Heaven on Earth Cake with delicious angel cake layers, sour cream pudding, cherry pie filling, whipped topping and almonds. Creamy and decadent, this cherry trifle is sure to be a crowd pleaser!

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 jar (8 ounces) Cool Whip
  • 1 can (21 ounces) cherry pie filling
  • 1 box of angel food cake or 1 prepared angel food cake
  • 1 pkg. (3.4 ounces) vanilla instant pudding
  • 1 tablespoon of toasted almonds

Instructions

First, bake angel food cake according to package directions. Let cool and cut into cubes.

Then, in a bowl, combine pudding mix, milk and sour cream and beat until smooth. Put aside.

In a 9x13 baking dish, arrange half of the cake cubes in a layer.

Place 2/3 of the cherry pie filling on the cake.

Place the remaining half of the cake on the pie filling.

Pour the pudding over the cake and distribute evenly.

Spoon and spread the whipped topping over the pudding layer.


Top cake with remaining pie filling and toasted almonds.

Refrigerate for about 4 to 5 hours. Cut into portions.
