Baked Chicken Breast
Baked chicken breasts couldn't be easier or more delicious to make! The chicken breasts are mixed with a simple mixture of herbs and then baked in the oven until tender and juicy!
Ingredients
Salt water:
- the water
- 1/4 cup of salt
Chicken and seasoning:
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 4 chicken breasts (boneless and skinless, about 3 to 4 pounds)
- 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme
- 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon of paprika (regular or smoked)
- 3 tablespoons of olive oil (or melted butter)
- 1/4 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
Garnish:
- chopped parsley
Instructions
Salt water:
To brine the chicken breasts, fill a large bowl with 1 quart of lukewarm water and 1/4 cup of salt. Then stir to combine until the salt is dissolved. Then add the meat to the brine mixture and let stand for 30 minutes.
Additionally, you can cover the bowl and refrigerate for up to 6 hours. When you are ready to cook, remove them from the brine and rinse with cold water. Finally, dry them with absorbent paper.
Chicken and seasoning:
First, preheat the oven to 400 ° F. Lightly grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish with a few tablespoons of olive oil.
Then, in a small bowl, combine: salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried thyme, dried basil, dried parsley and chili flakes.
Rub the chicken breasts with olive oil or melted butter and season on both sides. Rub well so that it absorbs properly.
Add the chicken to the prepared baking dish and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165 ° F.
Before slicing, let stand 5 to 10 minutes for optimal tenderness.
