OREO CHOCOLATE CHIP CHEESECAKE BARS
These chocolate chip Oreo cheesecake bars will make you forget that other dessert options exist.
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup butter,, melted
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 24 Oreo cookies
- 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 (16.5 oz) package prepared chocolate chip cookie dough
Instructions
First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray 11 x 7 inch baking pan with cooking spray and set aside.
Then, crush the Oreo cookies in a large zip-up bag that can be closed with a meat mallet or a large soup can. (You can also mash them with your blender or food processor.) Combine the crumbs and melted butter in a bowl, mixing until well combined. Press the mixture at the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
In another medium bowl, beat the cream cheese, sugar, egg and vanilla together with an electric mixer until smooth and even. Spread over the top of the Oreo crust.
Remove the cookie dough from the package and use your hands to flatten small tufts to cover the cheesecake filling. Continue adding pieces of flattened cookie dough until the top is completely covered. You may have some dough left over to make cookies or just snack.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes, until the top is set and the edges are golden.
Remove from oven and place on a rack to cool completely. Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours before slicing to help the bars settle completely. If you are like me, taking a hot, sticky slice is perfectly acceptable before doing this step! Happy Cooking Time.
