Chocolate Chip Toffee Bars
Sticky and delicious cookie bars with caramel chocolate chips with a soft crust and caramel-like filling. This easy dessert recipe is perfect for a crowd, and I love that you can prepare it ahead of time.
Ingredients
- 1 egg slightly beaten
- 2/3 C brown sugar
- 10 oz. Skor toffee bits
- 1 12 oz. pkg. chocolate chips, semi sweet
- 2 1/3 C flour
- 3/4 C butter chilled
- 14 oz. sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
First, combine flour and brown sugar.
Then, cut the butter until the mixture looks like coarse breadcrumbs.
Add the egg and mix well.
Reserve 1 1/2 cups of this mixture and squeeze the rest into a 9 x 13-inch greased baking dish.
Bake 10 minutes at 350 ° C.
Pour the milk over the hot crust and garnish with 1 1/2 cups caramel pieces.
Stir in 1 1/2 tsp. chocolate chips in reserved crumb mixture
Sprinkle the rest of the breadcrumb mixture and the remaining shavings.
Cook another 25-30 minutes.
Garnish with remaining caramel pieces.
