Honey Bourbon Steak

Honey Bourbon Steak

The steak is cut into bite-size pieces and marinated in honey, brown sugar, garlic, bourbon, soy sauce and Worcestershire sauce, as well as red pepper flakes for some warmth.

INGREDIENTS

  • ⅓ cup bourbon
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • ¼ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 3 tablespoons butter divided
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • ⅓ cup honey
  • 2 pounds steak (rib-eye sirloin, or filet), cut into chunks
  • 1 (6-ounce) package mushrooms cut in quarters

INSTRUCTIONS

First, in a medium bowl, whisk honey, brown sugar, bourbon, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper flakes and garlic. Pour into a large zipped bag. Add the steak cubes and refrigerate for 2 to 4 hours.

Then, heat the vegetable oil and 2 tablespoons of butter in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat.

Add the steak. You will probably have to cook it in two batches, as you do not want to overload the pan. Cook until all sides are seared. Remove from the mold. Add the remaining butter to the pan and cook the mushrooms until golden. Happy Cooking Time.
