Simple Tuna Melts Recipe
It is by far
my favorite tuna fusion recipe. So cheesy and delicious! Just follow these
simple tips and you'll have the perfect sandwich every time.
Ingredients
- 2 teaspoons lemon juice
- 1/4 cup finely chopped celery
- 4 slices sourdough bread
- 8 slices tomato
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise (may wish to use more or less)
- 1/4 cup finely chopped banana pepper rings
- 8 slices provolone cheese
- 12 ounces solid white albacore tuna (packed in water and drained)
- 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
- Salt & pepper (to taste)
Instructions
First, preheat
the oven to 425 degrees F. Spray a baking sheet with cooking spray.
Then, in a
medium bowl, combine the tuna, mayonnaise, onion, celery, banana peppers and
lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper according to your taste.
Place the
bread on a baking sheet. Divide and distribute the tuna mixture over the bread
slices. Top each tuna fondue with two slices of tomatoes and then 2 slices of
provolone cheese.
Bake for
15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is hot, bubbling and begins to brown. Serve
immediately. Happy Cooking Time.
