MONGOLIAN CHICKEN RECIPE







This Mongolian chicken is crispy slices of chicken breast sautéed in a sweet and savory sauce. A favorite restaurant that tastes even better when you do it at home!

INGREDIENTS
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup low sodium chicken stock
  • 4 stalks scallions (chopped bite size on the bias)
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast (chopped bite size)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger (peeled and minced)

INSTRUCTIONS

First, in a bowl, combine the chicken pieces with the cornstarch until all the pieces are evenly coated.

Then, in a saucepan over high heat, add the oil and when the oil is hot, add the chicken. Cook until chicken is cooked through (about 4 minutes).

Add the garlic and ginger and cook for 2 minutes.

Add soy sauce, chicken broth and brown sugar and cook 3-4 minutes, until sauce thickens.

Turn off the heat, add the sesame oil and the green onions. Mix well and serve with white rice. Happy Cooking Time.
