MONGOLIAN CHICKEN RECIPE
This
Mongolian chicken is crispy slices of chicken breast sautéed in a sweet and
savory sauce. A favorite restaurant that tastes even better when you do it at
home!
INGREDIENTS
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon garlic (minced)
- 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup low sodium chicken stock
- 4 stalks scallions (chopped bite size on the bias)
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast (chopped bite size)
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger (peeled and minced)
INSTRUCTIONS
First, in a
bowl, combine the chicken pieces with the cornstarch until all the pieces are
evenly coated.
Then, in a
saucepan over high heat, add the oil and when the oil is hot, add the chicken.
Cook until chicken is cooked through (about 4 minutes).
Add the
garlic and ginger and cook for 2 minutes.
Add soy
sauce, chicken broth and brown sugar and cook 3-4 minutes, until sauce
thickens.
Turn off the
heat, add the sesame oil and the green onions. Mix well and serve with white
