CROCK POT MISSISSIPPI POT ROAST

CROCK POT MISSISSIPPI POT ROAST

Easy slow cooker Mississippi roast recipe made from 7 simple ingredients. This Mississippi pot roast is best served on mashed potatoes or can be used as a roast sandwich.

Ingredients
  • 8 peperoncini peppers
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix
  • 1 packet dry onion soup mix
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup salted butter 1 stick
  • 1 3 lb chuck roast
  • 2 tbsp olive oil or vegetable oil

Instructions

First, heat a large skillet over high heat.

Then, add the oil to the hot pan.

You want it to be really hot here to brown or "sear" the beef quickly.

Take a paper towel and make sure to dry both sides of the roast.

Season with a little salt and pepper.

Once the pan is hot, add the roast.

Cook the roast for about 2 to 3 minutes until it is golden brown.

Using tongs, turn the meat over and sear the other side of the roast for 2-3 minutes.

Transfer the meat to the slow cooker.

Sprinkle sachets of dry ranch dressing and onion soup mixes over the pot roast.

Garnish with a stick of butter, then place the peppers on and around the roast.

Cover and cook at low temperature for 8 hours.

Take two forks and start shredding the meat.

Discard large, fatty pieces.

Happy Cooking Time.
