Easy Apple Dumplings
These Easy
Country apple balls are soft and gooey at the bottom, but crispy on top, and
they taste like apple pie. So easy and ridiculously good. In addition, the
house smells incredible during cooking!
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tbsp flour
- 1 (8 oz) tube crescent rolls
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon (more, to taste)
- 3/4 cup lemon lime soda (Sprite or Mountain Dew)
- 1 green apple (Granny Smith or Golden Delicious)
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter, melted
Instructions
First, preheat
the oven to 350F degrees.
Then, peel
and seed the apples.
Cut the
apple into 8 slices.
Unroll the
tube of crescent rolls and separate into 8 pieces.
Sprinkle a
little cinnamon on each roll.
Add a slice
of apple.
Roll it up
in a nice little package.
Continue
with the next 7 rolls in the same way.
Spray an
8-inch square pan with a non-stick spray.
Place the 8
meatballs in a baking dish.
Mix the
melted butter with the sugar, vanilla and flour.
Pour the
butter mixture over the crescent rolls.
Now take
some soda and pour it over the edges of the crescent rolls.
Sprinkle the
tops with a little more cinnamon.
Bake in the
preheated oven for about 35 to 40 minutes.
Serve with
whipped cream or ice cream.
