NUTELLA GOOEY BUTTER CAKE
The Nutella
Gooey Butter Cake is made from a mixture of evil cakes topped with a layer of
gooey cream cheese flavored with lots of Nutella. It is wonderfully dense and
chocolatey. Topped with whipped cream, it is a fantastic sharing dessert.
INGREDIENTS
FOR THE CAKE
- 1 large Egg
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1 (18-1/4 ounce) Box Duncan Hines Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix
FOR FILLING
- 1 cup Nutella
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 2 large eggs beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
INSTRUCTIONS
First, heat
oven to 325 ° F and lightly grease a 13 x 9 inch baking pan
Then, using
an electric mixer, mix the cake mix, 1 egg and the melted butter until well
incorporated. Press the bottom of the greased pan with your fingers.
For filling:
using an electric mixer, mix the cream cheese, 2 beaten eggs, Nutella and
vanilla. Then slowly add the powdered sugar and beat until smooth.
Spread the
filling on the cake batter and bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until the edges are
brown. (Do not overcook, the center should be a little sticky)
Sprinkle
powdered sugar over the top once the cake has cooled.
