INGREDIENTS
- Cooking spray
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound spaghetti
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning, divided
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 3 cups marinara sauce, divided
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup finely diced onions
- Kosher salt, to taste (for the pasta water)
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
INSTRUCTIONS
First, preheat
the oven and grease a 9 "x 13" pan and set aside.
Then, spray
a large baking pan and heat over medium-high heat.
Add the
onion and sauté for 3 minutes.
Add garlic
and sauté 1 more minute until fragrant.
Add the
ground beef and sauté until golden.
Drain the
beef and put back in the pan. Season with 1 teaspoon of Italian seasoning and
mix well with 2 cups marinara sauce and set aside.
When cooking
the beef, boil the spaghetti in salted water for 3 minutes less than the al
dente time indicated on the package.
Drain and
put back in the pan and mix well to combine with 1 cup marinara sauce. Put
aside.
In a medium
bowl, combine the cream cheese, ricotta, garlic powder and the remaining
teaspoon of Italian seasoning. Mix well.
Place half
of the spaghetti in an even layer in the 9 "x 13" pan.
Spread the
cheese mixture evenly over the top of the spaghetti.
Place the
remaining spaghetti in a single layer on top of the cheese.
Spread the
mixture of beef and sauce evenly over the top of the spaghetti.
Sprinkle
with mozzarella cheese.
Bake 30
minutes or until top is golden. If you want it to be browner, grill for 2-3
minutes, but keep an eye on it so that the cheese does not burn. Happy Cooking
Time.
