- 1 cup Frank's red hot sauce
- 1/4 tsp ground pepper
- 1 head of cauliflower approx. 4 cups of florets
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour can sub gluten-free rice flour
- 1 tbsp butter for vegan: use earth balance buttery spread
Instructions
First, line
the baking sheet (s) very well with parchment paper or grease with oil. Preheat
your oven to 400-425 F according to your oven.
Then, wash
and cut the cauliflower head into bite-size bites / bouquets.
Mix the milk
/ water / flour and spices in a medium mixing bowl (reserve the hot sauce and
butter for later). Mix until the dough is thick and can coat the cauliflower
without dripping.
Dip the
cauliflower into the dough. You can do it one by one or in batches. shake off
the excess dough before placing the cauliflower on the baking sheet. Place the
cauliflower in a single layer on the baking sheet.
Bake for 20
minutes until golden, turning the florets halfway to get all sides brown golden
and crisp.
While the
cauliflower is cooking, prepare your buffalo sauce. In a small saucepan over
low heat, melt the butter and stir in the hot sauce. Remove from the heat as it
begins to melt. Mix and reserve.
Once the
cauliflower is first baked in the dough, remove them from the oven and put all
the cooked florets into a bowl to mix with the wing sauce and mix to coat well.
Put the cauliflower on the baking sheet and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes
or until it reaches the desired crispness. Serve with ranch, blue cheese or
your favorite dip.
