Apple Pie Bread
Welcome to
autumn with this easy-to-prepare apple pie bread! This quick bread combines freshly
chopped apples, streusel with brown sugar and brown sugar, and a sweet cinnamon
icing. It meets in no time and turns into a delicious treat that no one can
resist. Perfect for breakfast.
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup butter (1 stick) softened to room temp
- 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
- 1 1/4 cup peeled & finely chopped apples about 2 small apples
Instructions
First, Preheat
the oven to 350f degrees.
Then, Spray
a large baking tin with nonstick cooking spray (like flour-like Baker's Joy.)
In a bowl,
combine brown sugar and cinnamon. Put aside
Using a
stand mixer (or a large bowl with an electric mixer), mix the sugar and butter
until a smooth mixture is obtained.
Stir in eggs
and vanilla extract until completely combined.
Finally,
incorporate the flour, yeast and milk. Mix until combined.
Pour half of
the dough into the prepared bread pan.
Cover the
dough with half of the diced apples. Lightly press the apples into the dough.
Sprinkle the
apples with half of the cinnamon sugar mixture.
Pour the
rest of the dough on the apple layer.
Cover with
the remaining diced apples (again, gently pushing the apples into the dough.)
Sprinkle
remaining sugar mixture with cinnamon.
Bake for
about 50 to 60 minutes (until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.)
Allow to
cool completely before removing from the mold.
