Salisbury Steak Meatballs and Noodles
An easy,
comforting and affordable meal that the whole family will love! You can also
prepare the meatballs in advance!
Ingredients
For the
Salisbury Steak Meatballs
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup bread crumbs
- 1/3 cup onions, chopped
- 1 tsp pepper
- 2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 tsp parsley
- 2 lbs lean ground beef
- 1/2 tsp crushed red peppers
For the
Mushroom Gravy
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp corn starch
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 3 Tbsp all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp pepper
- 1/8 cup water
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 2 cups onions, chopped
- 8 oz package egg noodles
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
First, In a
medium bowl, combine ground beef, onions, eggs, bread crumbs, Worcestershire
sauce, parsley, crushed red peppers and bell pepper. Prepare small balls (about
24).
Then, Add
the butter in a cast iron pan or large frying pan, then after cooking, add the
meatballs.
Heat over
medium heat, turning until all sides are seared. Once cooked, remove from the
pan, place on a plate.
Drain any
excess fat, if necessary.
Sauté the
onions and garlic for 3 to 4 minutes, scraping the juice.
Add the
mushrooms and continue cooking for 2 minutes.
Sprinkle
flour on mushrooms and onions. Stir, cook another 2 minutes.
Pour beef
broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper into the pan. Stir for a few
minutes and place the meatballs in the pan. Stir.
Cover the
pan, cook for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. The sauce will also
thicken as it cools. And if the sauce seems too thin, mix 1 tbsp. In cornstarch
with 1/8 cup of water, add it to the pan, mix and let simmer for a few more
minutes.
In large
saucepan, cook egg noodles according to package directions. Rinse and set
aside.
Once the
noodles are cooked and the meatballs are cooked, mix.
