SPICY KOREAN TOFU
Spicy Korean Tofu - Quick and straightforward Korean stewed tofu with flavorer , garlic, soy sauce, sugar and vegetable oil . This Korean entremots (banchan) is healthy and delicious.
INGREDIENT
1 can (16 oz / 450 g) of firm tofu
1 tablespoon of oil
SAUCE:
1 1/2 tablespoons soy
1 tablespoon sugar
1 leek, remove the stem and dig small pieces
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 1/2 tablespoons Korean red chilies
1 red chili, seeded, mash with a mortar and pestle, optional
1 teaspoon white sesame
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/3 glass of water
INSTRUCTIONS
1.Cut the tofu into rectangles about 1/4 inch thick. Pat dry with paper towels. Mix all the ingredients to form the sauce together. Set aside.
2.Heat a skillet over medium heat and add the oil.When the oil is heated, add tofu and fry until golden brown on each side . Add sauce to skillet and reduce heat. Boil the tofu until the sauce is reduced but still slightly moist. Turn tofu until boiling on each side .
3.Transfer to a serving plate and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve at temperature .
