Hoisin Beef Noodles
Let's find a more fun way to use that ground beef in your fridge! This recipe is made with an easy sauce, tender ramen noodles, crunchy veggies and lots of beef.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb ground beef
- 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 2 cups shredded Chinese cabbage (also known as Napa cabbage or wombok)
- 250g (9 oz) of fresh Chinese egg noodles
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
- 1 cup of grated carrots
- 2 teaspoons of white vinegar
- 2 tablespoons of hoisin sauce
- 1 teaspoon of dark sweet soy sauce
- ¼ cup thinly sliced spring onion (green onions)
- sesame seeds, for serving
INSTRUCTIONS
First, heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the ground beef and spread it in the pan. Let the beef sear and cook for at least 5 to 6 minutes or until the gravy evaporates and the beef begins to char. Now use a spatula to lift the charred beef from the pan and mix it.
Then, now add the onion and sauté for another minute. Add the garlic and sauté for another 20 seconds. Then add the cabbage and sauté for another 20 seconds. Then mix the carrot until it is just wilted. Turn off the heat and set aside.
Cook the noodles in boiling water for a minute or until just al dente. Drain and add to the pan with the beef. Return the heat to high heat and add the oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, black soy sauce and vinegar. Stir until well combined. Spread over the spring onion and sesame seeds before serving. Happy Cooking Time.
