Beer Cheese Dip






The Beer Cheese Dip is made with just a handful of easy-to-find ingredients and is ready in just 15 minutes! This pub staple is a hit, especially when served with chewy pretzels for dipping.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of milk
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ⅔ beer mug
  • ½ cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • ½ teaspoon of onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons of spicy brown mustard
  • ¼ cup of flour
  • ½ cup gruyere or Swiss cheese, grated
  • ¼ cup butter
  • ⅛ teaspoon of cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup grated sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

First, melt the butter, flour, onion powder, garlic powder and cayenne pepper over medium heat in a saucepan. Cook for 1 minute.

Then, gradually stir in beer, milk and mustard, whisking until smooth after each addition. Continue cooking over medium heat until thickened and bubbling.

Reduce the heat to low, add the cheeses and stir until melted and smooth.

Serve hot with vegetables, tortilla chips or soft pretzels.
