Steamed Black Bean Salmon
The steamed salmon is cooked until tender and moist and the asparagus is cooked perfectly. Dark black bean sauce perfectly complements both ingredients and turns those simple ingredients into a treat.
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1-2 salmon fillets
- Pinch of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon shaoxing wine (dry pale sherry)
- 2 tablespoons of black beans
- 1 tablespoon of light soy sauce
- 1-2 slices of ginger
INSTRUCTIONS
First, rinse and drain the black beans. In a mortar and pestle, crush the black beans. (If you don't have one, just use the back of a spoon to mash the black beans).
Then, mince the garlic and slice the ginger into thin slices.
In another bowl, combine the garlic and black beans together.
Place the salmon skin side down before spreading the black bean and garlic mixture evenly on top.
Add the ginger slices over the black bean and garlic mixture.
Pour light soy sauce, sesame oil and shaoxing wine over the salmon. Sprinkle a pinch of sugar over the salmon.
Steam for 8 to 10 minutes or until completely cooked through. The salmon should be completely pink when cooked.
(Optional) garnish the black bean salmon with spring onions. Happy Cooking Time.
