ORANGE CREAMSICLE DESSERT BARS
In bite-sized summer, these orange cream dessert bars are bursting with orange flavor from freshly squeezed orange juice and grated orange zest! Forget the orange jello, these Dreamsicle Orange Pie Bars taste so much better!
INGREDIENTS
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup cold milk
- 1 pkg. (3 oz.) Jell-O Orange Flavored Gelatin
- 2 teaspoons of orange zest
- 1 pkg. (8 oz.) Cream cheese, softened, divided
- 1 pkg. (3.4 oz.) Jell-O Vanilla Instant Pudding
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 3 tablespoons of melted butter
- 1 (8 oz) jar thawed Cool Whip, divided
INSTRUCTIONS
First, combine graham cracker crumbs and butter and press into bottom of 8-inch square pan. Refrigerate until ready to use.
Then, in a small bowl, cook the juice in the microwave for about 1 minute on high power. Add to gelatin mixture in small bowl; stir for 2 minutes until completely dissolved.
Gradually add half the cream cheese to a medium bowl, beating with a mixer after each addition until blended.
Whisk 1 cup of Cool Whip. Spread over the crust. Freeze while preparing the next layer.
Beat remaining cream cheese and milk in another medium bowl until blended.
Add the dry pudding mixture; beat 2 minutes.
Stir in the rest of the Cool Whip and the orange zest. Spread on a layer of gelatin. Refrigerate at least 3 hours before serving.
