Chicken Pochero Recipe







Pochero chicken is a Filipino dish prepared with tomato sauce, garbanzo beans, chorizo bilbao, green beans, potatoes, fried saba bananas or complaining bananas and green leafy vegetables like cabbage, bokchoy or pechay. This chicken stew has a mild and sweet taste.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cabbage
  • 5 bananas (saba variety)
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 packet of tomato sauce
  • 1 kilo of dressed chicken
  • Pechay
  • 1/2 head of crushed garlic
  • 100 grams of Baguio or sitaw beans
  • 2 medium potatoes (medium sliced)
  • 1 chicken cube (bouillon cube)
  • Ketchup
  • Salt and pepper
  • Cooking oil

Instructions

First, heat the oil in a pan and sauté the potato and banana until golden brown, then set aside.

Then, sauté the garlic, onion and tomato

Add the chicken and cook for 5 minutes

Add the tomato sauce and mix well

Add the water and the chicken cube then simmer until the chicken meat is tender

Add the fried banana and the potato and simmer for 5 minutes

Add the cabbage and simmer for 3 minutes

Add the pechay then turn off the heat.

Cover the pan for 3 minutes to cook the pechay.

Serve hot with steamed rice.
