Oreo Overload Donuts
I'm supposed to be sharing something healthy today because after all these foods that I enjoyed while on vacation, I need something light and healthy. I guess my belly always wants something sweet and nasty.
Ingredients
- 1 egg
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 6 tbsp milk
- 3 tbsp vegetable/canola oil
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 2-3 pieces of Caniquik White Chocolate
- 9 Oreos, finely chopped that will go into the batter
- Oreo crumbs to top the donuts, 5-6 oreos
Instructions
First, preheat the oven to 325 degrees F. Spray a donut pan with cooking spray, use a paper towel to spread / slightly remove excess spray.
Then, in a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. In another bowl, combine the milk, eggs, vanilla and oil. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mix until they are combined.
Finely chop the oreos or use a blender to chop them, making sure the pieces are small enough to pass through the pastry bag. Add the ore chunks to the dough and mix to combine.
Transfer the dough to a large pastry bag or use a ziploc bag with a cut corner. Pipe the dough into the donut pan, filling each donut hole about 2/3 full.
Bake the donuts for 10 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Remove from the oven and let the donuts sit in the pan for 10 minutes before moving them to a wire rack.
While the donuts are cooking, pulverize the other oreos in the blender crumbs, these will be used for the filling. Put the crumbs on a shallow plate, set aside.
Follow the directions on the Candiquik package to melt the chocolate. Once it has melted, let it sit for a few minutes so that it thickens slightly, so that it is not too runny when you dip the donuts.
Dip each donut in white chocolate, letting the excess fall on a cooling rack. Let the chocolate harden for about 3 minutes, you want the chocolate to take just enough so that it does not drip when you dip the donuts in oreo crumbs.
Dip the donuts in the oreo crumbs, pressing lightly on the donuts in the crumbs so that they completely cover the chocolate.
Happy Cooking Time.
