SWEET CHILLI CHICKEN MEATBALLS








SWEET CHILLI CHICKEN MEATBALLS







Serve these Asian meatballs as a party appetizer or with rice for an easy dinner.

INGREDIENTS

FOR THE MEATBALLS

  • 1 egg
  • 2 spring onions, sliced
  • 1 tbs of chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tsp of freshly grated ginger
  • pinch of salt and black pepper
  • 455g (1lb) of extra lean chicken mince (ground chicken) or can use turkey
  • 30g (1/2 cup) of panko bread crumbs - 5.5 syns

FOR THE SAUCE

  • 3 tbs of water
  • 1 tbs of light soy sauce
  • 3 tbs of sweet chilli sauce - 4.5 syns

TO GARNISH

  • chopped spring onions

INSTRUCTIONS

First, add the ingredients for the meatballs in a bowl and mix until the ingredients are just combined.

Then, make 12 meatballs of equal size (or you can make smaller ones if you prefer).

Remove the pan from the Actifry, spray it with cooking oil.

Carefully place the meatballs in the Actifry pan, spaced (with the pallet removed)

Spray on top with cooking oil spray

Cook for 8 minutes with the palette removed, you will need to carefully rotate halfway.

After 8 minutes, return to a palette and cook for another 5 minutes.

Whisk together the sauce ingredients, pour over the meatballs and cook another 3 to 5 minutes, until the meatballs are coated and sticky.

Serve sprinkled with chopped onions.
