MAPLE GLAZED CINNAMON SCONES

MAPLE GLAZED CINNAMON SCONES

Cinnamon and Brown Sugar Maple Gloves, the best and easy Scone recipe. Perfect for a snack or breakfast. Quick and easy.

INGREDIENTS

For the scones

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 3 1/4 cups flour plus more for dusting
  • 2 cups cold heavy whipping cream

For the maple glaze

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon maple extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3 tablespoons milk

INSTRUCTIONS

First, to make the scones, preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Then, add the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt to a large mixing bowl and whisk to combine.

Pour the heavy cream and the vanilla and stir with a wooden spoon until everything is well mixed.

Place the dough on a floured work surface and use your hands to separate the dough into two balls of uniform size.

Tap each ball in a circle about 8 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick. Use a pizza cutter or knife to cut each dough circle into 8 triangles.

Place the triangles on a baking sheet and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until they are light and fluffy and golden. Do not overcook.

While the scones cool, prepare the frosting. Add the brown sugar, butter and milk to a small saucepan over low heat and whisk until the butter has melted. Heat for 5 minutes, whisking occasionally, to warm the milk.

Remove from heat and stir in the maple syrup and maple extract.

Gradually stir in powdered sugar, 1/2 cup at a time, until the frosting is smooth and thick.

Dip the top of each scone in the glaze and let set.

Happy Cooking Time.
