PEANUT BUTTER PIE
This homemade peanut butter pie is made from scratch with just a few ingredients and will keep everyone coming back for a few seconds!
INGREDIENTS
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/3 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 6 tablespoons butter melted
- 4 ounces cream cheese softened
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 3/4 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
- 1 (3.4-ounce) box instant vanilla pudding mix
- cups chopped peanut butter for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Then, in a medium bowl, combine the Graham cracker crumbs and the melted butter. Press the bottom and sides of a 9-inch pie plate. Place in the oven and cook for 8 minutes. Let cool.
Place the chocolate chips and 1/3 cup heavy cream in a microwave safe bowl at 20 second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth. Reserve 1/3 cup of the chocolate mixture and pour the rest evenly over the top of the cooled pie crust. Place in the refrigerator to set the chocolate while you prepare the peanut butter filling.
Add 1 1/2 cups heavy cream to a clean mixing bowl. Use an electric mixer to whisk it until it begins to thicken. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar and continue beating until thickened. Put aside.
In another bowl, use an electric mixer to beat the cream cheese and peanut butter until smooth.
Stir in sweetened condensed milk.
In another bowl (yes, lots of bowls!), Whisk the vanilla pudding mixture and the milk until it begins to thicken, about 1 minute.
Mix the pudding mixture into the peanut butter mixture until well blended. Stir in 1 cup of whipped cream.
Pour the filling into the pie crust. Spread the remaining whipped cream on top. Use a spoon to mix the reserved chocolate mixture on top.
Refrigerate at least 2 hours before serving.
Scatter the cups of peanut butter on top.
Happy Cooking Time.
