MILLION DOLLAR POUND CAKE RECIPE
The million pound cake recipe is rich and buttery. Serve a slice of this homemade cake with fresh summer berries like strawberries and blueberries. Then garnish each pound portion with whipped cream.
Ingredients
- 6 large eggs
- 1 Tbsp pure vanilla extract
- 3 cups granulated sugar
- 4 cups all-purpose flour sifted
- 1 teaspoon almond extract
- 1 pound salted butter softened (4 sticks)
- 3/4 cup whole milk OR buttermilk
Instructions
First, preheat the oven to 300 ° F. Butter and flour an angel mold / tube with removable bottom. Put aside.
Then, in the bowl of a stand mixer using the whisk, whisk together the butter, vanilla and almond extracts. Whisk for 5 minutes over medium-high heat.

Place in the oven and bake for 1 hour 30 to 45 minutes OR until a toothpick inserted in the cake comes back clean.
Leave to cool for 15 minutes, then remove the outer ring.
Cool completely on a cooling rack.
