Ingredients
- Salt , to taste
- black pepper , to taste
- 2 pounds chicken wings , tips removed
- Vegetable oil for brushing the grill grates
For the
Sticky Asian Glaze:
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 1/2 Tablespoons chili garlic sauce
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 Tablespoon fresh lime juice
- 2 Tablespoons soy sauce or fish sauce
- optional , chopped cilantro to garnish
Directions
First, dry
the chicken wings and season with salt and pepper.
Then, make
the sauce: Combine all the sauce ingredients (ketchup, honey, soy sauce or fish
sauce, garlic chili sauce, lime juice and rice vinegar). Put aside.
Heat the
grill over medium to medium-high or light heat and set the coals for a direct
heat grill.
When the
grill is hot, scrape the grill grates to clean them. Spray a paper towel with a
generous amount of vegetable oil and wipe the grill grates with the oiled paper
towel.
Place the
chicken wings on the grill. Grill the wings, covered, turning from time to
time, for about 15-20 minutes or until golden and cooked through.
Brush the
chicken wings with the sticky Asian frosting. Grill another minute or two to
caramelize the frosting on the wings. Remove from grill and brush with a little
extra sauce if desired. Garnish with cilantro, if desired. Happy Cooking Time.
