Old-Fashioned Pound Cake






4 simple ingredients make up this classic old-fashioned cake. It is thick and rich with a golden interior. Garnish with vanilla frosting for a simple dessert.

INGREDIENTS
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened, (2 sticks)
  • 6 large eggs (room temperature)

INSTRUCTIONS

First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Then, grease and flour a tube mold.

Cream the butter and sugar. The mixture should be light in color, like a pale yellow.

Add the eggs one by one. Continue mixing until the egg completely disappears in the mixture.

Slowly add the flour to the mixture, 1/2 cup at a time.

Bake for 60 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean.

Leave to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes. Remove from the pan on a wire rack and let cool completely. Happy Cooking Time.
