FRIED HONEY BANANAS
These fried
honey bananas are caramelized with honey and cinnamon for a simple and
delicious treat!
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 1/2 tablespoon unsalted butter
- 1 tablespoon water
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 large banana , slightly under-ripened, peeled, cut into 3/4-inch slices
Instructions
First, in a
small bowl, whisk together the honey, water, brown sugar and cinnamon. Put
aside.
Then, melt
the butter in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Place the banana slices
in the pan in a single layer; cook 1 to 2 minutes on each side, until a golden
crust forms (keep an eye on them and adjust the heat if they brown too
quickly.)
Remove the
pan from the heat and pour the honey mixture over the banana slices. Let cool
slightly.
Eat alone or
serve over yogurt, cottage cheese or ice cream!
