Easy Apple Strudel

Easy Apple Strudel

This quick and easy apple strudel is made from ready-to-use filo pastry sheets and filled with a spicy mix of sweet apples. From the preparation to the table in less than an hour, it's perfect for feeding a crowd!

INGREDIENTS
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1  tablespoon apple juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanila
  • 1 teaspoon heavy whipping cream
  • 1 can Pillsbury Crescent Rolls 8 rolls or use the Crescent Roll Sheet if you can find it
  • 3/4 of a 21 ounce can of Apple Pie Filling or Caramel Apple Pie Filling
  • Granulated sugar for sprinkling

INSTRUCTIONS

First, preheat the oven to 375 ° F.

Then, unroll the croissant rolls on a large sheet of parchment paper that will hold on a cookie sheet. Press the seams together and roll with a rolling pin so that the crescent rolls rectangle is about 1 ”longer than it was when you unrolled them.

Using a utility knife, cut 1-inch strips on either side of the rectangle of the crescent roller, leaving approximately 3-inch of space intact in the center for filling. Place the pie at the top and bottom of the center where there are no cuts. Wrap each slice over the filling, overlapping if necessary. Pinch the closed ends with the tines of a fork.

Brush the outside of the croissant with thick whipping cream and sprinkle with granulated sugar. Place the parchment sheet with the strudel on a cookie sheet.

Bake for 15 to 16 minutes until golden brown. Cool completely before frosting.

To make the icing: whisk the powdered sugar, vanilla and apple juice.
Drizzle on the strudel, slice and serve. Optionally, garnish with caramel sprinkled instead of icing.

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Happy Cooking Time.
