Crispy Fried Green Beans
These crispy
green beans fried with Sriracha mayonnaise are a breeze to prepare them, making
them perfect for match day, movie night and shindigs.
Ingredients
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 2 teaspoons salt, divided
- Vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons white vinegar
- Ranch dressing
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder, divided
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 pound fresh green beans, trimmed
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
First, in a
medium bowl, whisk together the flour, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of garlic
powder, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper and cayenne pepper.
Then, in
another medium bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups of water, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon
of garlic powder and vinegar. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and
baking powder. Stir in the water mixture.
Pour 2
inches of oil in a Dutch oven. Heat between 350-375 degrees.
In batches,
dip the green beans in the egg mixture and then dredge them in the flour
mixture. Dredge in the egg mixture a second time and then in the flour mixture
a second time.
Fry the
beans for 3 to 4 minutes or until golden. Season to taste with salt and serve
with a Ranch dressing. Happy Cooking Time.
