CHEESY FRENCH PINWHEELS

CHEESY FRENCH PINWHEELS

The cheese mills are a perfect aperitif. You will be so happy with how these elements come together so quickly. You can put ham or chicken in it.

INGREDIENTS
  • 3 Cups Jack Cheese Shredded
  • 1 Tablespoon Fresh Rosemary Finely Chopped
  • 1/2 Pound Salami Very Thinly Sliced
  • 2 Large Egg Beaten to Blend
  • 2 Sheet Puff Pastry
  • 1/2 Cup Country Dijon Whole Grain Mustard

INSTRUCTIONS

First, preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Line 2 large baking sheets with Silpats or parchment paper.

Then, thaw the puff pastry according to the directions on the package, about 30 to 40 minutes.

Gently unfold 1 sheet of dough and place it on a lightly floured surface. Use a lightly floured rolling pin to flatten the folds.

Spread half of the mustard evenly over the surface, leaving a 1/2 inch border. Sprinkle half of the rosemary evenly over the mustard. Arrange half the salami slices on the mustard, overlapping them if necessary. Sprinkle half the cheese over the salami. Brush the plain edge with beaten egg. Roll up the dough, like a jelly, pressing to seal the seam. Repeat with the rest of the dough, mustard, rosemary, salami and cheese. Cut logs crosswise into 1/2 inch thick slices. Arrange the circles on the prepared leaves, spacing them 1 inch apart. Brush the top of the rings with the egg.

Bake in preheated oven for 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown.

Happy Cooking Time.
