Apple Dapple Cake
Apple Dapple
Cake is a simple vintage cake recipe, filled with apples and nuts, and sweet
butter frosting on top.
Ingredients
- 3 eggs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 cup sugar
- 1 cup pecans chopped
- 2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 3 cup all purpose flour
- 3 cups raw apples peeled and chopped fine
Sauce
- 1/4 cup milk for sauce
- 3/4 cup butter 1 -1/2 sticks (for sauce)
- 1 cup packed brown sugar for sauce
Instructions
First, generously
spray the pan with cooking spray and set aside.
Then, combine
oil, sugar, eggs and vanilla in a large bowl.
In another
bowl, sift together the flour, salt and soda. Add to the first mixture.
Fold the
pecans and apples. Bake in a tube or drip pan * at 350 ° C for 1 hour.
For the
sauce
Place the
sauce ingredients in a small saucepan over medium-high heat. Stir constantly
and bring to a gentle boil. After it starts to boil gently, continue to stir
and cook for about three minutes. Pour over the hot cake still in the pan. Allow
the cake to cool completely before removing it from the pan.
