Outrageous Nutella Brownies
Melting
chocolate brownies with the signature crispy top stuffed with a layer of
Nutella! After trying various Nutella brownies in my day, I found it the best
way to get Nutella flavor in brownies.
Ingredients
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup (150g) Nutella
- 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons (350g) Nutella
- 200 g/7 oz. dark/bittersweet chocolate , coarsely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 200 g/7 oz. unsalted butter , cut into pieces
- 3/4 cup (105g) all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons (175g) granulated sugar
Instructions
First, spread
350g of Nutella on an 8 × 8 inch baking dish lined with parchment paper. Freeze
1 hour or until firm. Remove the frozen Nutella with the paper on a plate and
put it back in the freezer (you should only do this if you want to use the same
pan for brownies. If you have another, you can use it instead) .
Then, preheat
oven to 350 ° F / 180 ° Line pan 8 × 8 inches with parchment paper or aluminum
foil, leaving enough overhang on sides to remove brownies after baking.
In a large
heat-resistant bowl, place the chocolate, butter and nutella and melt in the
microwave at 20-30 second intervals, stirring between each interval, until it
is melted ( or, place it on a pan of simmering water, stirring occasionally).
Add sugar and whisk until well blended. Add the eggs, one at a time, and whisk
vigorously a few times until they are well combined. Add the flour and salt and
fold, using a rubber spatula, until they are mixed.
Pour half of
the dough into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Remove the frozen nutella
from the paper and place it on top. Top with remaining brownie dough.
Bake for 25
to 30 minutes. A toothpick inserted in the center of the brownie should come
out with wet crumbs, but it will be a little difficult to say because of the
liquid Nutella in the middle. If your baked goods are usually cooked quickly,
bake for 25 minutes, otherwise bake for 30 or even 35 minutes.
Refrigerate
at least 4 hours until everything is set, then slice into 16 squares.
Because
brownies are fuzzy, it is best to keep them in the refrigerator, in an airtight
container, for up to 3 days. They can also be frozen for up to 2 months. Thaw
them overnight in the refrigerator. Happy Cooking Time.
