CINNAMON SUGAR PRETZEL BITES
Cinnamon
sugar pretzel bites are so easy to make at home. Serve them with sweet cream
cheese frosting for the ultimate match day snack!
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 1/3 cup baking soda
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 pounds pizza dough, store-bought or homemade, at room temperature
DIRECTIONS:
First, preheat
the oven to 450 degrees F. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
Then, in a
small bowl, combine the sugar and cinnamon; put aside.
Working on a
lightly floured surface, cut the dough into 4 equal strips. Roll each strip
into a long cord about 12 to 14 inches; cut into 1 inch pieces.
Heat 6 cups
of water and baking soda in a medium saucepan. Bring to a boil; working in
batches, place the dough pieces until they are slightly puffy and honeycombed,
about 30 seconds. Remove with a slotted spoon; drain well.
Place the
dough pieces on the prepared baking sheet, about 1/2 inch apart.
Brush with
egg.
Place in the
oven and cook until golden brown, about 9-12 minutes.
Work in
batches, mixing the hot pretzel bites, the butter and the cinnamon-sugar
mixture until they are evenly coated.

Cooking Time.
