Old Fashioned Goulash
Old-fashioned
goulash, almost as good as when your grandmother did it. This hearty recipe is
the perfect meal for the whole family.
Ingredients
- 1/3 cup olive oil
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 3 tsp minced garlic
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 T Italian seasoning
- 3 bay leaves
- 1 T Adobo Seasoning
- 2 (15-ounce) cans tomato sauce
- 2 lbs ground beef or turkey
- 1 large Yellow onion, diced
- 1/2 T black pepper
- 2 cups elbow macaroni, uncooked
- 1/2 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese
- 1 T seasoned salt
- 2 (15-ounce) cans diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese
Instructions
First, In a
large saucepan, sauté the minced meat in a frying pan on medium-high heat until
half-cooked, remove from heat.
Then, Add
the garlic, onions, olive oil and until the meat is well cooked.
Add water
and broth, tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, Italian seasoning, bay leaves and
seasoned salt, pepper and adobo seasoning. Mix well.
Reduce heat
and cover - cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Add the
macaroni to the uncooked elbow in the pan, stir well until combined.
Cover again
and simmer for about 30 minutes.
Once cooked,
remove the bay leaves Add only
cheddar cheese and mix until well blended
Add
mozzarella just before serving
