Easy Bourbon Chicken
Bourbon
chicken easy to prepare is crispy, sweet, sticky and has the same taste as the
one you grew up eating at the mall!
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/3 cup bourbon
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 3 cloves crushed garlic
- 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- chopped chives , for garnishing (optional)
- 1 1/2 lb (680g) chicken breast , cut into bite-size chunks
- 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
- sesame seeds , for garnishing (optional)
Instructions
First, For
the marinade: mix the soy sauce, bourbon, water, vinegar, sugar, ginger, red
pepper flakes, chopped garlic and onion and mix well. Add the chicken breast
pieces, seal the bag and marinate in the refrigerator as long as you can, at
least 4 hours turning the bag occasionally.
Then, In a
large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken pieces and
cook until the meat is no longer pink. Pour half of the marinade over the chicken
and stir to coat. Reduce the heat to simmer. Cook until marinade thickens and
chicken pieces are caramelized on the outside, about 20 minutes.
Garnish with
sesame seeds and chopped chives, if desired. Serve on hot rice. Happy Cooking
