 Puff Pastry Samosa

A puff pastry samosa mold with a savory filling, that's all you want! This irresistible scaly windmill may be a great choice for potlucks, game parties, or any time of day.

INGREDIENT

2 sheets of puff pastry (vegan)

2 tablespoons of vegetable oil

2 large boiled potatoes (peeled and mashed)

1/2 cup peas (boiled and coarsely crushed)

3/4 teaspoon fennel seeds (puree coarsely)

1 teaspoon cumin powder

1 teaspoon paprika (or red chili powder)

1.5 teaspoons of coriander powder

1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder

1.25 teaspoons of Garam Masala powder

1 teaspoon dried mint leaves (puree)

1.5 teaspoons raw mango powder (optional)

Salt to taste

3/4 cup cheese (low fat)

INSTRUCTIONS

1.Thaw frozen puff pastry sheets consistent with package directions.

2.Meanwhile, prepare the decoration. Heat oil during a skillet. Once the oil is hot, add the mashed potatoes and peas to the pan.

3.Now add all the spices: coriander powder, crushed fennel seeds, turmeric, paprika (red chili powder), cumin powder, raw mango powder, dried mint leaves, salt and flavorer (garam masala powder).

4.Saute for a couple of seconds until all the spices are well combined into the potato and peas mixture. Take the taste test and adjust the seasonings.

5.Set aside and let it cool.

6.Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

7.Remove the thawed puff pastry sheet from the refrigerator. (Read all about handling puff pastry sheets within the article above). Work on one sheet at a time and keep unused sheets wrapped during a bag and replace within the refrigerator.

8.Open the dough sheet and take away the dough on the floured surface. this may prevent the dough from sticking to the surface and to the kitchen utensil . (see step by step photo above 👆)

9.Distribute the cooled potato and bean mixture evenly on the baking sheet. Sprinkle with cheese and begin rolling the dough until you reach the opposite side. Secure and canopy the sides with a touch water. The dough will appear as if a wooden stick.

10.Wrap these logs in wrapping and keep them within the refrigerator. Repeat this process with the opposite sheets and chill until you're able to bake.

11.Cut the logs into even strips and place them on a greased baking sheet.

12.Bake at 400 degrees F for 20 to 22 minutes or until golden brown.

13.Serve the exquisite grilled samosas windmill with the chutney of your choice!
