LOADED CRAB FRIES RECIPE

LOADED CRAB FRIES RECIPE

Enjoy this recipe for loaded crab fries, crispy fries topped with succulent snow crab and garlic aioli. Perfect for entertaining friends and family, it's so easy to prepare!

Ingredients

Crab fries:

  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons of salt
  • 2 large Russet potatoes (cooking)
  • 2 tbsp. Old Bay seasoning
  • 2 oz queso fresco (use more if desired)
  • 2 oz fresh mozzarella (use more if desired)
  • 6 oz of Dungeness crab legs (~ 3 crab legs), steamed and removed from the shell
  • 1/4 cup fresh chives, diced (or a green onion substitute)

Garlic yogurt sauce:

  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely diced
  • 1 cup of plain yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp. Old Bay seasoning

Instructions

First, preheat the oven to 400 ° F.

Then, cut the potatoes into long slices about 1/4 "wide and deep.

Place fries in a single layer on an unlined baking sheet. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with Old Bay.

Cook the fries for 20 minutes, then flip the fries. Bake 10 to 15 minutes longer, uncovered. (The cooking time will depend on how crispy your fries are.)

Remove the fries from the oven and sprinkle with salt.

Turn on the grill. Grate cheese over fries and broil for about 2 minutes or until cheese is melted.

Remove the fries from the oven and transfer them to a serving dish. Add the crab meat and chives.

Combine all the ingredients for the yogurt sauce and serve on the side or drizzled over the fries.
Happy Cooking Time.

Notes

Cooking Time: Keep in mind that the cooking time does NOT include steaming or shelling the crab. Crab can be prepared 1 to 2 days ahead and refrigerated.
