HOISIN ASIAN MEATBALLS

HOISIN ASIAN MEATBALLS

These sweet and sticky hoisin meatballs make a great appetizer for a party. They are highly addictive but are healthy which is good because you can't eat just one.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup of Panko
  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon of toasted sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Sesame seeds, for decoration
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 3 green onions, thinly sliced, plus more for garnish

FOR THE HOISIN SAUCE

  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of rice vinegar
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon toasted sesame oil

DIRECTIONS:

First, preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat; put aside.

Then, in a large bowl, combine the ground beef, sesame oil, panko, ginger, egg, garlic and green onion. Using a wooden spoon or clean hands, stir until well combined. Roll the mixture into 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inch meatballs, forming about 18 to 20 meatballs.

Place the meatballs on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12 minutes or until all sides are golden brown and the meatballs are cooked through.

To make the hoisin sauce, whisk together the hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic and ginger in a small bowl.

Serve the meatballs immediately with the hoisin sauce, garnished with the green onion and sesame seeds. Happy Cooking Time.
