Oreo Cookies and Cream Donuts

Oreo Cookies and Cream Donuts

Homemade Oreo cookies and cream donuts are baked, not fried and ready in just 20 minutes!

Ingredients

Chocolate Oreo Donuts

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons white vinegar
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 stick unsalted butter, melted
  • 8 Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 2/3 cup cocoa powder, I used Dutch-process
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Cream Cheese Icing

  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • 8 Oreo cookies, crushed
  • 2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
  • 2 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Oreo Chocolate Donuts

First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease two standard donut pans.

Then, in a bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Put aside.

In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla and vinegar. Add to dry ingredients with melted butter and crushed Oreo cookies. Stir until homogeneous.

Scoop the dough in a plastic ziplock bag or a pastry bag, cut a hole in a corner and place the dough in the donut molds, filling about 3/4.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool 5 minutes before turning the pans upside down on a rack to remove the donuts.

Cheese frosting

First, whip cream cheese, sugar, milk and vanilla together until smooth and combined. The mixture will be very thick.

Then, dip the top of the donuts in the frosting or use the back of a spoon to spread a thick layer.

Sprinkle with crushed Oreo cookies before setting for about 20 minutes or until the frosting is slightly hardened.

Happy Cooking Time.
