Black Magic Cake









Black Magic Cake








Your friends and family will love this beautiful, simple, sweet chocolate cake.

Ingredients

  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup strong brewed black coffee
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • butter for pans
  • 3/4 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

FOR THE FROSTING

  • 1 stick (8 tablespoons) butter
  • 1 1/2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1 bag (12 ounces) semi sweet chocolate chips finely chopped

Instructions

First, preheat the oven to 350F

Then, butter and flour two 9-inch round mussels.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and salt.

Add eggs, buttermilk, coffee, oil and vanilla.

Using an electric mixer, beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes. You should have a thin paste.

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared molds.

Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Let cool 10 minutes; remove the cakes from the molds on the racks.Let cool completely before frosting.

PREPARE ICING

First, place the chopped chocolate in a medium mixing bowl; put aside.

Then, put the whipping cream and butter in a saucepan and cook over medium heat until boiling.

Pour the cream mixture over the chocolate; whisk vigorously until chocolate is melted and smooth.

Cover and refrigerate for one hour.

Remove from refrigerator and stir; refrigerate for about 1 hour more or until the consistency has spread.

Spread about 1/4 to 1/3 of the frosting on a layer of cake; top with the other layer of cake and spread the frosting over the top and sides of the cake. Happy Cooking Time.
