One Pot Fettuccine Bolognese
These
delicious potted pastas are rich, meaty and filling - perfect for a quick
weekday dinner that the whole family will enjoy.
Ingredients
- ½ tsp. kosher salt
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 1 cup chopped celery
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1 tsp. dried Italian seasoning
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1/4 cup red wine
- 1 cup chopped carrots
- 8 ounces fettuccine
- ½ cup grated Parmesan
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 (14.5 ounces) can diced tomatoes with basil, garlic and oregano
- 1 (15 ounces) can tomato sauce
- Fresh basil leaves
Instructions
First, in a
large non-stick pan with deep sides, combine the ground beef, onion, carrots,
celery, garlic, Italian seasoning and salt.
Then, cook
until beef is golden and vegetables are tender and crisp, 10 minutes, stirring
occasionally.
Stir in the
diced tomatoes with their juice, tomato sauce, water and red wine. Add the
fettuccine, breaking in half if necessary, and bring to a boil. Cook for 12
minutes or until the fettuccine is al dente.
Serve with
parmesan cheese and garnish with fresh basil leaves.
